SAATCHI & SAATCHI LAUNCHES T-MOBILE MYFAVES CAMPAIGN

On Thursday 1 November Saatchi & Saatchi launches a new campaign for T-Mobile to promote the launch of its exciting new price plan, MyFaves. 

It is the first and only price plan of its kind built around people and not minutes or text messages. T-Mobile customers on MyFaves can call, text or picture message the five people who matter the most for free, no matter what network they are on.  The five people they choose are represented on a unique interface on their mobile phones by pictures or icons so it’s even easier for T-Mobile customers to connect with them with just one click.

The multi-platform campaign spans television, cinema, outdoor, online and in-store. 

The television ad opens with a close-up of a man strolling through a park on a sunny day. He spots his girlfriend who is enjoying the sunshine, she jumps up to meet him, and they fall together to form a “human ball of friends”.  As they continue to roll through the park, our hero sees a friend and asks him to join in and the three of them roll in formation towards a cityscape where two more friends join in.  We end with our hero surrounded by the faces of the friends he has picked up in the ball.

The “human ball of friends” theme is continued in the print and in-store campaign which focuses on T-Mobile customers’ five favourite people.  The print ads will appear on poster sites across the UK and in the press.

T-Mobile customers can also visit www.t-mobile.co.uk/myfaves, a microsite developed by Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive.  The site features an innovative navigation system, using the human ball from the TV and print work alongside a product emulator and a film showing how the TV ad was made.  The website includes two games.  The first is designed to help players identify their five MyFaves people; the second is an arcade-style game, where the player searches a city for their lost MyFaves.

“MyFaves is a new T-Mobile service that puts people first.  It makes it easier for people to stay connected to the five people closest to them on any mobile network or landline and we wanted to communicate this to a massive audience.”

The ad was created by the Saatchi & Saatchi team Brian Connolly and Paul Domenet and directed by Mike Maguire at the Independent.  The campaign will launch in the UK, Germany, Austria and Croatia.
